Tour overview

If you have missed taking the Chardham tour in the summers, you can always take the Winter Chardham Tour of Uttrakhand from the month of November/December. During the winter months, the idols of Lord Kedarnath , Lord Badrinath, Ma Ganga and Ma Yamuna are bought down from their respective abodes and are housed in their winter homes at Ukhimath, Joshimath, Kharsali and Mukhba. This is done to ensure that the devotees get round the year darshan of their gods and goddesses.

Day 1- Delhi - Haridwar

Post arrival in Delhi, we leave for Haridwar where after check-in and some rest, we embark on a short sightseeing tour of Haridwar culminating with the evening aatri on the banks of the Ganges. Dinner and overnight at Haridwar

Day 02- Haridwar- Barkot - Jankichatti

Leave for Jankichatti after breakfast and checkout. En-route we will pass through Dehradun, the capital of Uttrakhand and Mussoorie. We will make a brief stopover to admire the Kemty falls, Mussoorie before proceeding to Barkot and then to Jankichatti. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3 - Jankichati - Kharsali -Uttarkashi

Today we drive some 100 kms through winding scenic route to Kharsali to pay a visit to the Yamunotri temple- the of seat goddess Yamuna who had made the Shani temple her home for the winters. Post darshan we leave for Uttarkashi admiring the lush greenery of deodars and pines along the way. En-route we will pay our respects at the Prakestswar Mahadev temple before reaching Uttrakashi. After some rest, we head for the banks of river Bhagirathi where we will witness the aarti and have a darshan of Lord Vishwanath before a calling it a day

Day 4 - Utarkashi - Mukhba - Uttarkashi

A mix of drive and some trek. Today we will drive till Dharali, the last motorable road before trekking up to Mukhba- the winter home of goddess Ganga. After a darshan at the temple we will spend some time at the village of Harsil enjoying the magnificent views of the mountains and the alpine forest.
Note: Harsil is the base point for trek to the Gangotri temples in summers

Day 5- Uttarkashi-Guptkashi

A drive of around 250 kms will lead us to Guptakashi where we will have a darshan of Lord Shiva at the Kashi Mahadev temple and also visit the Ardhnareshwar temple and the confluence where the Ganga and Yamuna rivers meet.

Day 06-Guptakashi-Ukimath-Chopta-Joshimath

After an early breakfast, we will start for Joshimath. On the way we will first stop for a darshan and aarti at Ukimath, which is the winter home of Lord Kedarnath. After that we will make a brief stopover at Chopta- the 'mini Switzerland of Uttrakhand' followed by another stop at Karnaprayag (where the river Pindar joins the Alaknanda) , Nandprayag (where river Mandakini joins the Alaknanda) and Vishnuprayag (where the Dhauli Ganga Pindar joins the Alaknanda). Evening reach Joshimath-the winter home of Lord Badrinath for overnight stay

Day 07-Joshimath-Pandukeshwar-Auli

Early morning attend the aarti at Narsingh Temple which is built bear the confluence of Alaknanda and Dhauli Ganga. Later either head for Pandukeshwar to visit the Yog Dhyan Badri temple and Vishnuprayag or take the longest ropeway in Asia to spend some time at Auli -one of the most beautiful hill stations of India. Overnight at Joshimath

Day 08-Joshimath-Rishikesh

After breakfast, he head back to Rishikesh, en-route stopping at Devprayag to see the confluence of the river Bhagirathi with the Alaknanda river. Reach Rishikesh around afternoon where we spent the rest of the day sightseeing in Rishikesh.

Day 09-Rishikesh-Delhi

Tour ends. After breakfast, we check out and head back to Delhi to catch the connecting flight or train
