Tour overview

In this week-long Golden Triangle of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra you will see Northern India’s most iconic important sights including the Taj Mahal and the Jaipur Palaces. During this The Golden Triangle tour of North India, you will visit visit the following destinations and sights.

  1. Delhi- Red fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat (where Mahatma Gandhi rests),Humayun Tomb,  Lotus Temple (Bahai) and  Qutub Minar
  2. Rajasthan- City Palace and Museum, Amber Fort & Palace, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal.
  3. Agra- Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal
  4. Fatherpur Sikri -Buland Darwaza and the tomb of the Sufi Saint Salim Chisti
  5. Mathura / Vrindavan –Temples associated with Lord Krishna.

Note:

  • The Golden Triangle Tour of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra can be extended further by a few days to include Varanasi and Khajuraho Temples

Day 01: Delhi Railway Station / Airport – Hotel + Halfday Sightseeing

Transfer and check-in to your hotel post your arrival at New Delhi Railway Station / Airport . Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Delhi that will cover Jama Masjid, Red Fort , Raj Ghat, Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple (Bahai), Qutub Minar. On the way we will also pass by Rastrapati Bhawan , Parliament House, Jantar Mantar & India Gate. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi – Mathura / Vrindavan (160 Km / 3 ½ hrs)

After breakfast check out from hotel & drive to the holy city of Mathura & Vrindavan. Both these towns are associated with Shri Krishna . It was here that he was born and spent his initial years. After check in to the hotel and some rest, we will head off to visit the numerous temples the city is famous for. If visiting the city during the month of March, you can partake in the festivities of holi (the festival of colors).Overnight at Mathura.

Day 04: Mathura – Agra Sightseeing (60 Km / 2 hrs)

After breakfast , we head for Agra visitng enroute Sikandara where the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar lies. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Afternoon visit Agra Fort & famous Taj Mahal. If time permits, also visit the tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah who was the father of Nur Jahan (Shah Jahan's stepmother) and grandfather of Mumtaz Mahal, the wife of Shahjahan. Its is believed that his tomb along with Humayun's tomb in New Delhi served as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. The Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah was also the first to be built in white marble and marked the transitional phase from red stone to white marble. Overnight stay at Agra.

Day 05: Agra – Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (245 Km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast proceed to the Pink City of Jaipur. Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri – once the capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Fathepur Sikri is known for the Buland Darwaza (Door of Victory), the highest gateway in the world as well as for the tomb of the Sufi Saint -Salim Chisti. While Akbar built the Buland Darwaza to commemorate his victory over Gujarat, he built the mausoleum as a a mark of his respect for the Sufi saint, who foretold the birth of Akbar's son-Jahangir, who was earlier named Salim after the Sufi saint. The tomb of Salim Chisti is also known for fulfilling the wishes of its devotees-especially of those seeking a child.
On arrival at Jaipur, check into your hotel. Overnight stay at Jaipur.

Day 06: Jaipur Local Sightseeing

After breakfast start for full day local sightseeing in Jaipur. Visit Amber Fort & Palace,“Gaitore” Cenetophs (Front View), Jal Mahal, City Palace & Museum, Jantar Mantar Observatory & Hawa Mahal. Evening free for leisure.Overnight stay at Jaipur.

Day 07: Departure

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Jaipur Railway Station / Airport for your onward journey. Those who have their flights from Delhi will be driven to Delhi to catch their flight.
