Tour overview
This 10 Days/9 Nights Temple Tour of Karnataka will take you across the well-known as well as lesser-known temple towns of Karnataka. Besides the temples of Murudeshwar, Udupi, Shringeri, etc, you will also visit the beautiful Jog Falls, Gokarna Beach as well as the historical architectural wonders of Hampi and Badami.
Day 1 : Arrive at Hubli
Meet and greet at Hubli Railway Junction and proceed to hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 2 : Hubli – Hampi – Hubli
After breakfast, leave for to Hampi to visit Shri Virupaksha Temple and the Shri Vijayavittala Temple -a temple dedicated to Lord Vitthala (Lord Vishnu).
Day 3: Hubli – Badami – Hubli
Today we will head to Badami for a tour to the Bhutnath Lake, Shiv Gumpha, Vishnu Gumpha, Vaishnav Gumpha and Jain Gumpha Mandir. We will also visit the Shakambari temple ,which is one of the 51 Shaktipheet . Evening return back to Hubli.
Day 4: Hubli - Sirsi - Jog Falls - Murudeshwara
Proceed to Murudeshwara after breakfast visiting en-route the famous Devi shrine of Sirsi, Sri Marikamba Temple and Sahasralinga where a 1000 shiv lings are said to have been carved on the racks along the banks of the the river Shalmala . Also visit Jog Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. Arrive in Murudeshwara and overnight stay.
Day 5: Murudeshwara - Gokarna -Murudeshwara
Today we will visit the Gokarna - often called the Kashi of the South. and home to the Mahabaleshwar Temple - one of the major temple which is famous for Atmalinga. Evening visit Murudeshwara temple & enjoy some free time at the Murudeshwara Beach.
Day 6: Murudeshwara - Kollur - Udupi
Leave Murudeshwar for the town of Udupi known for the Sri Anathesvara Temple. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu's the Sri Anathesvara Temple famous for its intricate carvings, while the Chandramauleshvara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva boasts of towering roof like a pyramid and Krishna temple. Evening spend some time at the Malape Beach. En-route visit Mookambika temple
Day 7: Udupi - Shringeri Temple - Mangalore
Leave Udupi for Mangalore visiting en-route the Shringeri Temple ( home of the Sarada Peetham established by Aadi Sankaracharya ). On the way, we will also visit the Moodabidri temple or the Thousand Pillars Temple famous for its stone sculpture; the Kadri Manjunath Temple which houses one of the oldest idol of South India -the Lord Manjunathaswamy idol . Reach Mangalore and visit the temple of Mangaladevi who is said to the patron goddess of the city.
Day 8: Mangalore - Kukke - Mangalore
After breakfast we will go for a visit the famous Sri Kukke Subrahmanya Temple. Situated on the banks of river Kumaradhara, the temple is dedicated to Kartikeya, who is also known as Subramanya, lord of all serpents. Legend goes that the divine serpent king Vasuki and other serpents sought refuge under Subramanya when they were threatened by Garuda. Rest of the day free.
Day 9: Mangalore - Dharmasthala - Mangalore
After breakfast we will make a short journey to Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala. One of South India’s most renowned religious landmarks with a history as old as 800 years,here Lord Shiva is worshiped as Lord Manjunatheshwara. We will also visit the 39 feet high shrine of Lord Bahubali , the Shri Chandranatha Swamy Basadi -one of the most revered and celebrated Digambara shrines in South India and the temple of Annappa Betta,
Day 10: Departure from Mangalore
Your 10 Days/9 Nights Heritage Tour of Karnataka concludes today. After breakfast , head for the nearest railway station, bus station or airport for the onward journey
